Biography of Artist
Ross Nooney's interest in woodworking began as a small boy helping
his father in his shop make furniture for their home. As an adult, work
and family put woodworking on the back burner until he approached retirement,
when he once again began making sawdust producing PO Box coin banks
and jewelry boxes.
These original PO Box doors come from post offices throughout the
United States and are 40 to 50 years old. The banks include the
combination to the door.
Ross uses a variety of hardwoods including oak, maple, walnut,
lacewood, zebrawood, cocobolo, zircote, wenge’, purpleheart,
rosewood and teak to
name a few.
